Quilt Coat Sewing Class w Nancy Hicks

Coats made from old quilts are everywhere! Why not make your own instead of paying hundreds of dollars for one?

We will be using the Elemental Coat pattern by Crinkle Dreams. You will need to purchase the pattern online before class, but only print the instructions. I will have patterns to trace. You will also need a quilt of at least twin size. Make sure it isn’t a stiff quilt. It should be soft and drape well. Check the antique and thrift shops for a good one. You will also need about 7 yards of bias binding that coordinates with the quilt. This can be made from fabric or prepackaged.

Bring your sewing machine, extra denim needles, sharp scissors, neutral thread and sewing supplies.

This is an easy pattern, but students should have some sewing knowledge and experience.
