Recycled Denim Tote Bag Sewing Class

Ever wondered what you could do with a pair of old jeans? Recycle them into a classic, one of a kind tote bag! For this class you will need one pair of jeans, some other pieces of fabric - maybe canvas, corduroy, suede, a piece of embroidery, or whatever you think will look good; half a yard of cotton for the lining, a yard of nylon or cotton strapping, any embellishments you want to use, and your imagination. You will need to know how to use your sewing machine, but this project is beginner friendly. After class you’ll be making these bags for everyone on your Christmas list!

Current trends, as well as glimpses into the past, will be a part of each session. You will be involved in projects that will help you see beyond the surface of the world around us. This class is for photographers of any skill level. Whether you've just begun or have been using your digital camera for years, the class will move you forward in your pursuit of finer photographs. Any digital camera will work well, from your cell phone camera to the latest in digital technology.

Let’s make a pretty journal using some fabric scraps and a Composition book. These are easy to make, eye catching and great gifts for teachers, friends, children or anyone you want to remember.  You will need two pieces of 11” x 23” cotton fabric and a piece of batting the same size. Also a Composition book, large button and a ponytail elastic. If you want to make one that looks like the picture let the instructor know and she will bring fabric strips to create it.

Easter Table Runner- Intermediate Sewing

Learn how to applique with this cute table runner for Easter. If you already know the basics of applique this is a good project to help you practice your skills. You will need 1/2 yard of white background cotton fabric, 1/2 yard of cotton batting, 1/2 yard of cotton backing fabric, and four 10 x10” squares of different pastel colored cotton fabrics for the bunnies. You will also need some Heat & Bond Lite fusible which can be found at Walmart or Amazon. Bring your sewing machine with an open toe foot for applique and all sewing supplies.
